E-Board Nominees for the 2014-2015 School Year
ELECTIONS WILL BE HELD APRIL 8TH, 2014 IN WELLS HALL ROOM B106 AT 7:30 P.M.
Presidential Nominees:
Madeline Valentine:
“Hi. My name’s Maddie Valentine, not to be confused with our wonderful Madeline Ciofu. I’ve been with EFFS since I transferred to MSU in Spring Semester 2013. Back then, the club was very different. I’d like to think I’ve been part of growing the club and organizing some pretty cool events over the last year. I’m a horticulture student and work at the MSU Student Organic Farm. I enjoy yoga and I’m biking from New Hampshire to Vancouver this summer to benefit affordable housing, which I am extremely excited about!”
Vice President Nominees:
Madeline Ciofu:
“My name is Madeline Ciofu and I am a Horticulture Science major and a member of the MSU Student Organic Farm Crew.. I love what I am studying and being a part of EFFS Club only makes me love it even more. I feel that my experience with EFFS will allow me to fulfill all the duties required of the Vice President and I hope to continue to make EFFS a fun and fulfilling club with the new e-board!”
Treasurer Nominees:
Claire Jordan:
"My name is Claire Jordan and I am currently a sophomore here at MSU. I am majoring in Environmental Studies and Sustainability with a minor in Women and Gender Studies and a specialization in International Agriculture. I love being apart of EFFS club because of what it stands for. I love the idea of local, sustainable food used for nourishment and bringing people together and that is what EFFS does every week! I am running for treasurer because I know how important it is to any organization to keep accounts in order and manage any monetary needs. I feel I can do that best because of my passion for the club and for real food and I would love to have the opportunity to do so!"
Jack Cwerzinski:
“Hi my name’s Jack Czerwinski and I’m a Hospitality Business major. I love cooking and making music with people. I’m a member of the student housing cooperative and I’m currently making pickles.”
Secretary Nominees:
Jorhie Beadle:
“In addition to rollerblading and playing in the dirt, Jorhie loves all things ecological, food and farming related. Her passion for plants and sustainable food systems outpours into her academics as a horticulture major and team member at Bailey GREENhouse and Urban Farm. Jorhie will use her fine penmanship and organizational skills to communicate across EFFS from E-board to members as secretary of EFFS club.”
Public Relations Nominees:
Ryan Block:
“My Name is Ryan Block, and I hope to be your Public Relations Director.
I'm currently a freshman with an Agribusiness Management major with a minor in Environmental Studies. I also plan on taking on the Sustainable Agri-Food Systems and Horticulture minors in the future. I come from a family farm that uses a hybrid approach, using both conventional and organic methods and technologies to grow our crops, which are mainly vegetables such as sweet corn. I have also contributed to the success of the business' Facebook page and aiding in the design of our official website. Outside of the fields, I have been an avid hunter, digital artist, novelist, and tea lover. My favorite vegetable, seeing as that kept coming up in the last meeting, is spinach.
If I was to be elected to office, I would be able to bring to the table some of the expertise I gained from being a Teacher's Assistant in High School, and work to bring promptness, consistent quality, and ease of access to personnel and information within and without of the club. Needless to say, I'll be working to get what you all as a club want done and portrayed. I hope that you consider me a valid choice to take on the role of Public Relations Director for the club.”
